疫情来临之时，河北工业大学国际教育学院院长史耕山教授身为领导干部，迅速响应，以身作则，积极部署，靠前指挥。由于疫情防控工作繁杂，责任重大，史院长便带头24小时在岗驻校办公，时刻陪在国际学院师生身边。办公室没有地方休息，他便搭起行军床，连续十六天值守校园；工作时没有时间吃饭，他便熬些米粥，在事务间隙匆匆进食。

虽是箪食瓢饮，和衣而卧，但史院长依然坚守奉献精神，坚持选择和学生们站在一起。驻校办公期间，他担任东院东八学生公寓的楼长。期间，走访宿舍、慰问学生、检查跟进核酸检测进度、召集各楼层负责人开会是他的日常。有留学生因封校隔离产生厌倦情绪，他就与之谈心谈话，教育引导；为缓解来华留学生因封校带来的压力，丰富留学生业余生活，加深中外文化交流，他为学生举办了一场别开生面的文化沙龙《解码中国文化》；为深入了解留学生们生活和学习状态、切实解决学生的困难，他就在办公室与学生进行座谈；十六天的温馨陪伴，史院长从校园生活点滴入手，把学院的关心和爱护带到每一位学生身边，尽自己的每一份力守护校园平安。

The session taken by Professor Shi, Dean of School of International Education about the Decoding Chinese Culture: Evidence and Reflections was an outside. To understand about the Chinese Culture & It's Root's, the session was so much effective. Throughout the session I can relate, how rich Chinese culture is! From Confucianism to Taoism, Taoism to Buddhism. To build modern China, these was the key factor. Chinese people respect their culture & use the lesson in their daily life & that's why they are respected by other's. Here's the lesson is, "To build a nation, respect your culture & reflect in your daily life".

The lecture was great and very insightful. It opened my eyes to a lot of things about China. I absolutely loved it. Professor Shi has a very powerful ability to explain complicated things so that they seem clear and obvious. He also patiently answered all our questions and I really appreciate this approach! I learnt a lot about Chinese culture especially the core teachings of Confucianism which is; Rites (Li), Benevolence (Ren) and Dao (the Way). These teaching really touch my heart!
